Summer’s winding down, and I guess that means it’s time for me to start blogging again. The Comic Book Story of Beer comes out in just over a month (Sept. 22nd) and we have NPR to thank for letting people know about it. Tomorrow I’ll be heading to New York to enjoy the city and attend Special Edition NYC June 6th and 7th. I’ll have books, original art, and prints, as well as a galley of The Comic Book Story of Beer! The Elder Scrolls Online: Tales of Tamriel Book I: The Land is currently available and I spotted a copy or two at Powell’s on Burnside the other day. I have a number of illustrations included and it’s a handsomely designed hardcover from Titan Books. This book is sure to be appealing to anyone gearing up for the release of the video game Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited available June 9th. Book II: The Lore will be out in September of this year and I’ll post more of my illustrations when that book is released.

Following my previous post about Studio Paradiso, I decided to add some of the life drawing I’ve been doing this year. I added a page to this website under the header Life Drawing Gallery. I haven’t yet graduated to sessions longer than 45 minutes, but I’m hoping to work up to it this year. Let’s see how I do! 😉
I’m providing something a little different today. Most of my blog posts are news updates relating to the projects I’m working on or process posts, but today I’m presenting a sequential cartoon strip that I drew specifically for this blog. It’s also unique because it’s autobiographical and expresses something I care passionately about. I’m calling it an “advertoon” because its meant to support my friend’s business, but I compiled this series of images simply because I wanted to express something important to me. Thanks for taking at look.
Robert E. Howard’s Savage Sword Volume 2 is available today from Dark Horse. It’s a 144 page anthology that collects the various stories from earlier issues into one convenient collection. All three parts of the Dark Agnes story that I was involved in (see previous Dark Agnes posts) are collected back to back. Francesco Francavilla drew Part One and I took over for Parts 2 and 3. Check out this PREVIEW for a little taste of what’s included in this appealing package designed to sate your thirst for savage tales of adventure!
